A Warsaw Retiree wins $1 Million Hoosier Lottery Jackpot

Rick Calvert, a retired man from Warsaw, has won CA$H 5 jackpot worth $1,055,000 before taxes. Retired from printing industry a few months ago, the lucky player preferred to pick his numbers instead of going for the Quick Pick numbers.

The winning numbers for November 18 draw were 08, 19, 22, 37 and 39. Calvert’s preferred numbers were a combination of digits selected by him and his friend, Todd. The two had been punting with the same combination for a long time.

On the night before of the lucky draw, Calvert was nervous and could not sleep well. As soon as he got up, he checked the tickets to find that it was his lucky day. He immediately signed on the back side of the card realising all five numbers have matched. The retiree went running to Todd and told him that he would soon be debt-free. Calvert plans to pay off his house mortgage after he gets his hands on the prize. Among his other plans is to use this windfall on his retirement plans and take a trip to Florida trip, both being on his mind for quite some time.

Hoosier Lottery CA$H 5 is a daily Draw game which has a minimum rollover of $5,000. Drawn every evening at 11:00 PM ET, the game lets a player choose five different numbers from a slot of 1 to 45. There is also an option to ask for a CA$H 5 Quick Pick ticket. The odds of winning the top prize in CA$H 5 lottery are one in 1,221,759. Punters may put their money on the same set of numbers for up to 28 draws that are drawn consecutively. Draw tickets, starting $1, can be availed from a Hoosier Lottery retailer 10:39 PM ET.
