Ticket-holder makes call, claims €2.9m

A lottery ticket holder has recently contacted the National Lottery to claim the €2.9 m worth Lotto jackpot winnings. The winning ticket is said to be purchased in Limerick city, Ireland, last week. However, the winner has yet to claim the winning prize.

As in standard Lotto wins, the winning ticket holder is advised to seek legal and financial advice before taking home the enormous winning amount. Speculations are high as to who may have claimed the golden ticket.

On the other hand, it is the first time; the store has sold a big lotto winning ticket in 15 years of business. There were scenes of joy at the store which has ten employees. The news brings some joy for the store owner Shaun Coughlan who cracked open a bottle of champagne just before the lunch-time. “We’d love to know who it is. We hope it’s a local and the very best of luck to them. It’s our first time having a Lotto winner and I’m absolutely thrilled,” Coughlan told Limerick Leader.

Coughlan got a call from the National Lottery on Wednesday before 9 p.m. about the good news. “I was absolutely stumped when I heard it. I couldn’t believe it. I’m really excited. Myself and my wife were dancing around the house and told all our neighbours, and I made a few phone calls to staff, and there was very little sleep last night,” he concluded.
