€9.4 million jackpot winner may not be local

The North Inner City local lottery players are probably unaware of the lucky ticket holder. They are speculating who might have won the recent €9.4 million jackpot.

The winning ticket was purchased at the SPAR shop on Talbot Street. It is said that the winning ticket holder has made contact with the Lottery headquarter. However, National Lottery Chief Executive, Dermot Griffin is not revealing anything about the millionaire’s identity because they want to remain anonymous.

Griffin said, “While the winning ticket was sold in Dublin, there is a real possibility that the winner may not be a Dubliner as it was a very busy day in the capital on Saturday, particularly with Kerry and Mayo fans up for the big match in Croke Park.”

The city was flooded with GAA fans when the winning ticket was sold. So, the winner may not even be a Dub. Moreover, Griffin also said that winning a jackpot of this size can be a daunting experience. He recommends that the winner should seek independent financial and legal advice before receiving their prize.
