Cancer Patient from Canada Wins C$1.5 Million Lottery; Retires

Diane Bishop, a punter from Newfoundland (Canada), has prepared her mind to retire soon. She has been able to scoop a jackpot worth C$1.5 million and found a piece of luck. The cancer patient could not afford to quit her job despite the multi-sided hurdles of her life. She had a complete breast cancer treatment in April 2016, but the problem returned and spread to her hip and lungs.

The single mother from Mount Pearl was facing hurdles in focusing on battling due to her illness. She was also facing difficulties in managing her convenience store. Bishop bought her winning Atlantic Lottery ticket at a convenience store which she owns as a franchise. The lady told CBC news, “This money was not about going out and buying a new house or taking trips. This was about survival. I can survive now, and my kids can survive.”

Some of her Atlantic Lottery winnings have already used to buying a new bed and a recliner. These things are helping her in dealing with the fatal weakness. “It is the fourth stage, but I am not going to give up. We are still going to do the fight,” she said while collecting her check. Diane plans to pay off both her and her son’s mortgage. She is also intended to travel a different city for starting a fresh cancer treatment.
