Massachusetts hospital worker wins the second-largest Powerball jackpot

Mavis Wanczyk, a mother of two, claimed a $759 million Powerball jackpot in August. She matched all the winning numbers; i.e., 6, 7, 16, 23, 26 and Powerball 4. The winner of second-largest Powerball jackpot, the woman was employed at the Springfield hospital for 32 years. She chose to collect the one-time payment of $480 million ($336 million after taxes) and quit her job after the big lottery win. The Massachusetts woman said: “I wanted to get this over and done with, and then everyone would leave me alone. I have called them and told them I would not be coming back.”

19-year-old lady scoops two lotteries in one week

The California Lottery declared a 19-year-old woman Rosa Dominguez a winner of more than $600,000 by two scratcher tickets. Interestingly, she scooped these two lottery jackpots of $555,555 and $100,000 in a week. “I was so nervous I just wanted to cry,” she told the California Lottery. Rosa won the top prize of $555,555 when she scratched her $5 Power 5’s ticket. However, the $100,000 jackpot came from the $5 Lucky Fortune scratcher.

Francis Rudeen of Englewood, Florida won $1 million lottery jackpot. The winner bought his morning coffee along with gas and got his lucky quick-pick ticket against the change of $2.03. The winning man claimed his prize worth $1 million at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s headquarters in May.

Postal worker wins $10 million lottery jackpot

Woody Simmons, a poster worker, screamed in his car after he won the whopping $10 million lottery jackpot in a scratch-off game. He purchased a ticket for Virginia Lottery’s Extreme Millions game to won this whopping prize. Simmons said: “I did not tell anybody for a whole week. I just thank God for this moment — this opportunity … to take care of my family.” He chose the lump-sum cash option of nearly $6.6 million before taxes.

Man finds $24 million lottery ticket two days before deadline

Jimmie Smith, in 2016, purchased a ticket for New York Lotto. But, he misplaced the ticket. The lottery officials urged the retired security officer to find the ticket. He found it on May 23 in one of his old shirts. Nevertheless, the deadline of claiming the lottery was May 25. Smith expressed: “I had to stick my head out the window and breathe in some fresh air,” he said. “I was in serious doubt. I really had to convince myself this was real.”

19-year-old man wins $500,000 in the Michigan Lottery

A 19-year-old man won $500,000 lottery jackpot in the Michigan Lottery. He bought the winning ticket at the Sunoco gas station on North Williamston Road in Williamston. The winner said: “At first I thought they were playing a trick on me until I saw how excited they were about the ticket. My parents have done so much for my sister and me. Helping them takes a big weight off of their shoulders and mine.” He invested $5,000 and shared the rest amount with his parents.
